In Buttons defence, and nothing to do with being British, he has continually been asking for a more pointy car. He hates under steer, and has had almost nothing but from Mclaren since arrival.

So given that fact, as I see it at least, one would have to lay the blame squarely at the door of the team in not supplying him a pointy car over so many seasons. They new he was a pointy driver, so to speak, when the signed him from Brawn, then repeatedly gave him understear, to the point he gave up complaining about it it seems.

Button, whilst in the early days a good car developer, is ultimately a loser. Always has been, always will be.  Lower teams may be interested for the right price, but he's too much of a spoilt brat for that.

Without opening the page... Oh look TB has posted on an f1 thread, a topic he freely admits has no interest in, so obviously that's going to be a negative post.

Open page. Yep Tb is wining about f1. No problem there as such, except TB is looking for positive input going by posts less than an hour ago, and is clearly looking to be argumentative.

Remind me exactly what your trying to achieve here again? Do as he says not as he does by the looks.

What utter bollards too. By the way. ::)

Oh, forgive me for daring to have a different viewpoint to you.  Is it any wonder that people piss off from OOF when anyone dares disagree? Or that so many don't want to join? Exactly my point.

And to untwist your post, I've never said I have no interest in F1, I've only said in its current, false form, its dull and boring. Its motorsport, of course I have an interest. But boy could it be so much more if it was allowed to be a proper racing event. Additionally, the post you quote had no whining about F1.

Button lacks the desire to win. He's too much of a steady-as-she-goes, rather than a win-at-all-costs. And that's why he's always under achieved.  Great drivers, like Senna, Prost, Mansell, Schumacher and even Vettel to an extent are able to get the most out of any car. I'd probably start to include Hamilton in that as well.

See I cant, don't, and won't believe anyone in their right mind could possibly genuinely have that belief. It's so utterly deluded as to be pure fiction and bitter to the point of trolling other members.

He's a world champion. A feet that's simply unacheivable if your values are true. Then your reply is utterly aggressive and rude. Something your far too quick to accuse others of in the face of similar stupidity.

Drag yourself out of troll mode, your admin for crying out loud.

I mean who would want to engage in a formerly perfectly normal conversation with posts like that flying in. Is it any wonder members are thin on the ground. If I'm thinking of clearing off in the face of such abuse, what must newer members be thinking?

Derrrr! :D

Referring to other members as trolls is most likely not complying with the guidelines.

And, yes, I do believe he is unlikely to be anything other than a loser. He virtually threw away his World Championship by not having the right attitude to winning.  He got it by the skin of his teeth purely due to Brawn's complete and utter dominance for the first half a dozen races until the others caught up. Ironically, that race in Brazil that clinched the title I would say was undoubtedly his finest race.

....and clearly shows his talent. Your post is clearly contradicting itself. He threw it away on the one hand, then the rest of the pack cought up on the other.

Cobblers man!

Certainly talented, especially earlier in his career. But lacking a willingness to take risks to improve his position, when his peers will. Despite having some of the top drives throughout his F1 career, he has under achieved. And that's why he can't demand the big bucks.

And I'll not post any more on this thread, accept the fact we'll always disagree on his ability (or lack of). The future will show who was nearer the mark :)

I doubt it. He'll likely be out of a job on dec 1st. Due to lack of cars on the grid and Mclaren taking Hondas engines who specified Alonso. The rest is a numbers game.

And as Alonso won't have the same car as Button, we'll never know.
