i know there is various threads on this...all i want to know is which is the best restoration stuff to use...ive seen some on fleabay called uncle poopers (hmmm) and looks pretty good in the demo videos....

I use 1200grit, then 2000grit sandpaper, G3 cutting paste then a normal polish and a fair amount of elbow grease.

Quixx Restoration kit is excellent, though.

The paper they supply is good quality, but you need small hands.  They are tiny, tiny sheets.  Better off going to a local paint shop and buying proper sheets of the stuff for a few pence each and use a cutting paste and polish.

I tried the turtle wax kit, not great results but then again I think they are too far gone

I used 3000 grit with cutting paste, lots of water, and then 5000 grit and 7000 for final finish with lots of water only.  Finished with UV sealant and gives crystal clear finish.  Will take some time and pays to be patient and not be temped to attack with drill and polish cloth as could end in cloudy plastic as friction would cause heat on plastic !!!

To be fair, my lights were not bad to start with but came up like a new pin 

I have to do my dads facelift ones, and have ordered http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-G1900UK-Headlight-Restoration-Kit/dp/B001O7I7FS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416781751&sr=8-2&keywords=headlight+restoration+kit but will start with the paste and wet and dry with lots of water as his lights are in a bad way.  I may use the kit to finish them off to showroom finish

mine are bad...but ive just spent time respraying the insides black(which look good)....tempted to just splash out and buy some new ones...but i do have a 2002 cdx f/l which im thinking of scrapping...mines a pre f/l....dunno yet

Well, you have been shown the way. it is up to you whether you take the advice, or follow you own path...

Don't forget the lenses are different on a FL to pre-FL, so you can't just swap them. If you don't see how look at the innermost corners - they're a sharp point on FL, and a curve on pre-FL

First 500--->800-->1500-->4000 and a water wax finished the work

I've been waxing those since that couple times and very bright still.

i looked at your thread befor muroman.....the lights look well.....ok if weather ok this weekend ill give it a whirl...oh and stock up on deep heat and pain killers haha

Try the 3M kit, available on the bay of e, here`s my before and after.

I can confirm the 3M kit does work, just used it on SWMBO Zafira, UV damage starting to yellow the lenses quite badly.
Used that and now perfectly clear again.
First time user so got a bit of a scare after the first pass with the 'rough' stuff never thought I would see them clear after that but, perseverance worked wonders.

Give it a go.

Mine were bad; they looked like they should have been fitted to a '70s Citroen. Several goes with some G3 by hand saw them come up very clear, and a little polish finished the job. I would have used G10 as well, but couldn't find it.

It's not a difficult job, and if you already have some sort of abrasive paste then there's really no need to buy a 'specialist' product.
