Weather warnings and impact on road users
« on: 18 January 2015, 10:47:30 »

I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend but then call comes in from care home (it has happened a lot in last few years) that my mother has to go into hospital and paramedics called.

I was up in Ashton Under Lyne in 2 hours 45 mins (210 miles) - M40, M42, M6 all clearer than I can ever recall and traffic on M56 and M60 only due to roadworks really.

Seems as though many avoided the roads yesterday due to weather warnings.

Mum picked up a bit last night so hopeful that she will be ok and I will try and return tonight.

Sorry to near about your mum. Is there no way she could somehow move nearer to you?

Sorry about your Mum, hope her recovery continues quickly.

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

I have tried 3 times the last being a few months ago to get her to move near to us and she refuses. There are a couple of people left up here that she knows and she is determined to stay put.
