dash instruments not working
« on: 31 January 2015, 18:15:24 »

Hi there I have a 98 omega mv6 3.0
I'm having problems with my dash instruments my engine temperature stopped working a few days ago and now my rev count. Speedo and fuel light isn't working and my handbrake light is stuck on aswell.
my alternator is running at around 14.9v on fast idle and around 13v on normal idle but when I turn my heaters.lights and rear demister on the battery reads around 11v on fast idle wondering if the two are linked I havnt checked the fuse yet but I wanted to see if anyone could help me with this thanks

Sounds like two seperate issues.

For dash - try reseating dash assembly.

Alternator sounds like its overcharging @ 14.9V - won't do battery any good ;)  The 11V reading sounds like its undercharging, I'd be looking for another alternator ;)
