I doubt they will be sealed also... its for use on a small sailboat that I am building to power a trolling motor hence the sealed, deep cycle, and high AmpHrs requirements

I have people driving over to the UK all the time but bhanks anyways!   :y

and I am just about to sort out the pic.....

If your refering to my last post, there definitly sealed.

Very interested now...

I live in Germany but I have a BFPO number which costs the same as postage in the UK.... as long as it isnt considered hazardous cargo it should be fine.  Also I could get someone to pick some up for me.

Let me know what he says, do you know how old they are?

I would put a fuse for each battery, as close to the battery as you can, unless the run of cable from the battery to changeover switch is very short. It's more "conventional" to put the switches, fuses, etc. in the positive line but makes no odds in practice.

I put on the neg side to reduce sparks as you always go from pos to neg when ataching batteries and jump leads, etc but easily changed to the pos side.  Thanks  :y

Still interested, very much so!

They cant be sent through BFPO as they are considered hazardous (spoilsports!) so I will have to pick them up myself.

Would prefer newer ones, of course, and the higher AH preferred also.

How much would you/he want for 6?  (spares   ;) )

Ok, just spoke to him again, arranging a meeting with him this week (need to do it anyway for the de commisioning).

His idea for new is Newish, which means theve been bought for spares or recently replaced in the last couple of years.

I know these batteries have a ten year life (assuming you dont abuse them) which means the should be good for a few years yet.

As for price Hmm, not sure let me meet with him first, but Im sort of thinking arround £20 to £25 each mark would be a good offer (assuming there good), as thats arround 10% of the Cost New price.

Also managed to dig out some PDF spec sheets off the WEB, PM your email and I post to you.

Chris.

PS. As for Postage, there BIG and Bl**dy heavy!

Actually August would be cool, as that would give me time to cycle (dis charge / re charge) a few of them and test them.

If anyone else is interested for there Boat, Caravan or even Server UPS Batts. PM me (sorry I know this should be heading for the For Sale Forum but It started life on here).
