Good news....
« on: 08 February 2015, 19:22:51 »

....for Lord Opti at least.According to a very popular classic car magazine, while the prices of the Mk1 Escort Mexico have risen 38% in the past 2yrs prices for one of his favourites-the Alfa Romeo Montreal have fallen in recent months by 5.3%,so give it a while longer and they'll be paying people to take them away!!

The Alfa is probably priced based on weight......5.3% sounds about right for the amount of oxidised material that will be falling off on an annual basis.

The Mexico is a Mk1 Escort with an arthritic 1600GT Cortina lump in it. Okay, so it also has a few suspension and body mods but underneath it is nothing special. Doctor Opti's assessment......  Overpriced. :-\

The Montreal is a unique and beautiful Italian supercar from the seventies. It comes with a 200 BHP 2.5 litre V8. It will surely rise in value. Doctor Opti's assessment.......Buy now while they are still affordable. :y

There was one last year in a grey colour that used to spend the day time on SLady bitshorpe train stations car park. Not seen it since last year though so don't know what's happened to that one.

Not just Ford's, Mini prices have shot up too, anything 60's or 70's seemingly expences, Guy's fleet must have cost him an arm and a leg................. :D :D

The original Escort Twin Cam from 1968 was far superior......are far quicker than the tardy Mexico.

Worth a pretty penny today.
