Have you checked the fluid level/changed the fluid and filter?

What is wrong with it? Do all lights on the selector light up randomly or all at once rather that just the selected position? If yes, might simply need a new selector switch :y

For manual, some BMW Getrag boxes may fit, but you need all the associated parts... clutch components, flywheel, pedal assembly, gearbox mountings, front half of prop shaft, gear lever and selector mechanism etc...

If you hand the Omega A/Carlton there in manual form, one of those should be able to provide all you need :y

I have checked the oil level after changing it and cleaned the filter and the lights don't all light up only the indicator of gear problems does. . The car is stuck on the 3rd gear and I have to change the gears manually. ... sm times the  endicator don't light up when the car is turned on and rides well for one or two minutes . Put then it goes on again and stucks on 3rd .... any one can help with wat he saw and did to fix ? Or did any of you succeed in fitting an other kind of gearbox manual or otomatic

Good call on the loom plug.

If that doesn't help it would be worth getting the diagnostic codes read from the engine and gearbox ECUs.

If it's a gearbox problem, the gearbox ECU codes will help us to identify it. What can sometimes happen on the 4 cylinder engines is that the cam sensor fails and this can also cause the gearbox ECU to misbehave because it doesn't get a consistent speed indication from the engine ECU.
