Just one quick thing that I don't believe has been mentioned. . .

Ensure it's definitely empty by having the shop evacuate it before you open up the system. There could still be refrigerant in there. Then replace condenser and receiver dryer and then take it back for a regas.

As for removing the rad with an auto box I think the fluid lost is so is pretty minimal. I've done a few now and I simply pinch off the lines with needle nosed pliers with a couple pieces of fuel line on to protect hoses. Or I've seen spark plugs shoved in the line to stop drippage. But they may fall out so I prefer the pliers  :)

Rad has to come out to get it out.

As Shackeng says, worth picking up new seals for the A/C. The old ones *may* be OK, but you won't know for certain until after a £45 regas. So I'd always recommend replacement.

I think chrisgixer is talking about the copper washer seals for the auto gearbox cooler, and these can often be reused without issue, as long as they aren't damaged.  If these do weep, its easy enough to change these at any time afterwards, so not really a problem.  That said, they can't be expensive, if you wanted to replace them as a matter of course. Your choice :)

Obviously, in addition, you will need coolant, as you'll lose a lot of it when you disconnect the rad. You probably won't lose enough ATF to be overly concerned about, but no harm in picking up a small bottle and checking the level (with engine running) after job is complete. And the regas, obviously.

Shit-Fit used to do a £25 regas. probably still do.  I had mine done 4 times in 6 or 7 months by them, each time it only working for short periods. They were insistent there was a leak, but too slow to detect (the dye is always obvious). So I took it to someone who knew what they were doing, and it worked fine for ages...  ...until the compressor self destructed ;D

I bought one of these last year :

http://www.autoairconparts.co.uk/car-air-conditioning-condenser-aircon-radiator-vauxhall-omega-b-3-0-v6-petrol-manual-automatic-apr-1994-to-2013-part-16-6554.html

Not much help coz they're now out of stock  :-[

Assume it fitted fine ?

Yep. They are quite a snug fit though, and getting the thing to sit right with the front fans is a bit of a game - as is getting the main water rad in/out.

I've used these people for Omega radiators, and they have been spot on.  They also do condensors - may be worth a look - http://www.carcooling.co.uk/catalog/Vauxhall_Omega_B_94_03-2348-1.html ;)
