I've wide palms and short fingers, and find that a glove I can get my hand in leaves an empty space at the end of the finger. This is annoying when wearing gloves for warmth, but I find work gloves problematic. This includes disposable latex and nitrile.
I now use these http://www.skytecgloves.com/skytec-aria?gi=5cueulqcmrvv7ekb1b8edjq3p3#.VQXyY46kWM8 as the large ones actually fit. They have good grip and the nylon inner is slightly cushioned.  I can pick up and screw an M5 nut onto a bolt whilst wearing them so they're good for fairly fine work too. I'm still on my first pair at work, and I've been using them since December so they're long lasting. I now only use disposables(which I get from work like most mechanics) for really dirty jobs, or greasing things.

I thoroughly recommend these or something similar.
