I know this has been covered before but were is the best place to get a lpg kit for a 2.2i petrol from with a view to a diy fitment.

been thinking about LPG recently. I have three questions.
1. Is it cost effective.
2.Is  MPG the same as petrol.
3.Are there many instalation problems.  .......Poor running etc..

Have a read around the forum -- lots of stuff covered as several members have braved the DIY route recently.

As said Jeremy is the best bet -- for prices and after service. I am sure some kind soul will post up his details -- or you can find him on eBay -- mention OOF though!

MPG is slighly lower than petrol --- but LPG is still half the cost!

On a DIY install -- assuming a healthy mileage, you should recoup the costs after 12 - 18 months -- again, those that have researched this thoroughly will advise.

As long as the car was running well on petrol there should be no problems with gas, using the latest sequential systems.

1. Depends on the millage you do, costs £700 to convert, do more than 10k a year? then yes.

2. No. around 10/15% worse

3. Not if done right.

Bear with Jeremy, he's very busy at the moment and may take a while to get back to you, but he will!

As for your questions.

1. As Tunnie said, depends on mileage and how long you plan to keep the car. You should be able to save around 8p per mile... I do an average of 2k miles per month so I'll save somewhere around £160/month... Lets take a worst case scenario and say I save only £100/month... It still pays for itself in under a year!
2. Again, Tunnie's right... You will lose a little of the economy but not much!
3. I'll let you know!!! I am collecting my kit from Jeremy in about 2 weeks time and I'm hoping to get everything installed and running ASAP, realistically it'll probably be cooking on gas by the end of August due to other commitments!

The decision is very individual... My last car was LPG and I said I would have to think long and hard about another conversion but at the price of these kits, which are proven to work well on the Mig, I can't really go wrong!
