Dark Green met 2.6 in my scrappy - any interest?
« on: 13 April 2015, 08:36:45 »

Just giving all a head's up - I may be heading there in my dinner hour tomorrow, or in the week. Being relatively low-mileage (87k) worth grabbing a few bits off. Front wings seem ok, I think doors will be warped by the forklift ( >:() but interior trim etc seems decent. Bonnets tend to get bricks hurled at them by little cherubs via a footbridge, so if you're after than, get in there quick  :y

Don't imagine the scrappy will be able to beat OOF prices,  but it does have vented rear discs (seem to recall a set of calipers inc. discs were £35 on here not long ago) Being a 2.6 it'll have them new-fangled twin dis pack setup, no traditional HT leads, etc..

Do my best to get a price for you  :y

They sometimes quote me cheap as chips sometimes not that bad, but still dearer than OOF, so it's a bit 50-50, but will do my best for you  :y

AH, yes. Specifics - Dark green met (apologies didn't get to see the paint code) CD 2.6 V6 Auto saloon. 87k or thereabouts. Alloys will have gone. Not been in too long, all interior trim seems present. Key in barrel.

Rear NS shunt, so assuming that's the reason for being scrapped, rather than failed DIS pack / leaking camcovers or other mechanical usual suspects. Rear bumper gone, believe boot also suffered bucking on impact.  :)

Bleeding 'ell! Are wiring looms going dickey on Omegas too, now? I'll certainly ask - as for getting the thing out, not sure how much is involved. But will ask, yes.

Also EMD, you're welcome  :)

Thanks for that info, y, used Rimar Salvage a few times over the years. My miggy 2.6CD auto (lpg converted 2004) got written off in the early hours of this morning ( rear end shunt, boot and boot lid/rear bumper oppsed( offender absconded ), but as I also have an MV6 manual I`ll have to decide what I need from the 2.6 auto for spares. The auto is still running and I may arrange for it to be stripped down in Gy by a mechanic who has worked on it for the last 11 years .
Off the top of my head I reckon I`ll need the alloys and tyres, alternator, battery, wing mirrors, coil packs and few other bits in the engine bay
145000 on the clock - Darth Loo/OOF mechanic did cambelt Jan 2014,engine sound, gearbox problem free/have an unused autobox filter kit/gaskets still boxed/full interior, bodywork not great but hey its 11 years old, fron bumper bumps, scrapes and cracks over the years, working PRINS VSI lpg fitted ( with certificate)by the company that was in Railway St
