Phone upgrade sim switchover
« on: 10 May 2015, 09:28:50 »

Got my lad a new phone from 3 yesterday afternoon and the sim hasn't activated yet. Old phone working fine. When the missus upgraded it only took about 10 minutes. How long should I wait before creating merry hell?

24hrs with O2 but depending on backlog could be quicker. Typically about 12hrs iirc.

Keep turning the phone on and off every hour or so....if you aren't already.....leaving it turned on sometimes doesn't register the sim.

Usually the old phone stops working on switchover, but I'll do what you recommend anyhow. :y

Managed to get through to 3, the sim hadn't been assigned to the phone. Sorted in five minutes.

Funny that this subject has been brought up at this moment, wife changed her phone yesterday at carphone warehouse wanted to keep her old number.
Salesman says no problem, phones vodaphone for the pas code,it is send by text straight away. Now comes the cock up Talkmobile are not accepting any pac codes until the 28th of this month. so no working phone!.

Plan to be at the doors of CPW at 9am tomorrow ready for a screaming row.
