These days I only get to see any motorcycle racing on ITV4,although their coverage is ok in fact I think the MotoGP racing is taken directly from BT Sport,I do miss out on practice/qualifying and also on technical stuff.So what purpose do the winglets on the Ducatis serve?Not seen them on other manufacturers machines,so why Ducati?

Reportedly keeps the front down and more stable on exit in high speed corners. Stoner had them on a few years ago.  Bikes can be difficult to keep on line on exit for a few reasons. Too wide a rear tyre. Lifting the front under power. My old 600 used to do it on the exit of Malory turn 1 as it has a rise then drops away slightly just as your on full power. But wasn't going anywhere near fast enough to get benefit from any aero out of there on full chat front feels like it's lifting and skipping so the bars go light in your hands and start to turn in your hands like it's under steering.

Whatch the other bikes front wheels out of corners. They often aren't in line with the direction of the bike a good distance down the straight, as the rider is inputting a slight turn, but the front isn't in contact with the ground enough to oblige.
It's to help with that aspect, as I understand it anyway.

No Tunnie! They are a glaring admition by BMW that the fairing original design is shite.

Had them on the zx12  , didnt stop me falling off it

Figured they'd have to be there to provide some kind of down force/front end stability,but wasn't sure.
