Been having a look on you tube and i have found top gear doing a bit on the new mk2 cavalier and then a few years on the mk3 cavalier but i have not been able to find any film on when the omega first come out and then when they did the face lift on it.
Just want to see what they thought of the car when it was all nice and new.
Can any body help

I've got the past 10 years worth of TopGear, and the only Omega bit is the RC cars like theboy mentioned...

I'll see if I can find the older episodes, see if they might have mentioned it on any of those...

I'm sure they did a piece on 2nd hand exec cars. Unless that was one of the others.

I remember back in 1993 Jeremy Clarkson talking about the new Vauxhall Omega and doing a road test etc and saying that they spend 800 million on research and development and then he laughed as he stood next to it

Wasn't that when Vx first introduced the Vectra? :-/
He was on the phone 'reasoning' with his producer as to why he shouldn't have to drive it as well as give the speil(sp?)  :-/

That sounds like Clarkson. He wouldn't know a good car it it parked on his face

Never driven one but 3.0L straight six has got to be good.
Would that have been the same engine as in the 'J' Series ambulance, the had straight 6 3.0L engine, used to have one years ago to take the Cubs to Camp. Happy days. 8-)

The New Vectra was 1996, it was definetly the omega. I meet Jeremy Clarkson about 2 years ago in Baghdad believe it or not and drove him around for 2 days and asked him what he thought of the omega and he said he liked them I then told him that he slated it when it first came out, he them said that when he flys somewhere and they sent a car for him most of the time it's an Omega so he quite like's them now!!!!!
