Pigeon fanciers?
« on: 28 June 2015, 07:57:39 »

Out walking the dog this morning when two youngish looking[they were wearing baseball caps with the peaks on the back]came past in a pretty standard looking Golf.About 500 yards up the road they came to a halt and sounded the horn,my first thought was that it was a daft place to stop and pick someone up as they hadn't pulled into the kerb or anything.A couple of seconds after horn sounded hazard flashers came on,then a couple of cars pulled up behind them and a queue began to form waiting to get round the Golf.By this time I'd got level with Golf when a pigeon that'd been stood in the road took flight at which event the Golf moved off, they'd been waiting for the damn bird to shift!!!!

I remember approaching a junction, thinking it will fly off eventually. Nope, stayed there and was taken out  ;D

Trouble is the stupid things land in the roads to pick up the grit which they use to grind up the food in their crop. See a lot of them in Sep/Oct as they are fattening up for winter.

Ive taken a couple out that bounced of the windscreen.....at 70mph  ;D

Felt more guilty about the pheasant I ran over at 50mph....but not much I can do when it stepped out of a hedge right in front of me.....and theres on coming traffic.....but it did cause a £150 water pump to pack up....oh and the front fog that is still pushed back into the bumper  :(
