Ive been busy today!
« on: 25 November 2006, 15:17:51 »

First off took the vectraB to the garage this morning to see if they could find out why it was making a clunking noise from the nearside front.....didnt take em long.....engine mount knackered. Phoned vx dealer , not in stock, carnt get one till tuesday  :(
Then it refused to start  :( And within about 30secs of cranking battery died  :(
Reason it wouldnt start, bloody thing had run outa petrol (it still needs petrol to start even tho it is lpg)
Anyway quickly rectified and with booster got it started and bought it home.
Then decided to take the battery off and give it a good trickle charge all weekend, forgot about the power sounder and got deafened for my trouble  ::)

Next moved my attention to my Omega.....see if i could sort out the check coolant prob.
Worked out how to get the coolant bottle off and unplugged the sensor. Turned ign on and still compained about coolant level.....so must be closed ciruit for it not to complain. Shorted the pins together and comp happy. Next put multimeter on the pins in the socket and moving the float up and down open circuit, so it looks like a new coolant bottle required :( Put it all back together, topped up coolant, filled up windscreen washers as comp was complaining about that as well.....topped up oil as well.

And now after being back inside for 15mins the feeling has just come back to my fingers  ::)

Battery shouldn't drain in 30 seconds... Now that you have your TC card - for thirty-odd quid I would get a new GO battery, no point on taking a chance on loosing a fare...

I wont....coz its the vectraB....i rent that one out  ;D
Plus i dont know how the battery has been treated.....ie hes a night driver and he might leave the headlights on when parked up without engine running   :-/
As it ran outa petrol on me......if he had parked on a slope last night, he too might have had problems starting it..and gave the battery a hammering last night....but not bothered to put any petrol in it.

My battery charger said the state of charge was 25% when i first connected it......its been on trickle charge now for about 4 hours and its upto 50% charge now.

By the time its fully charged then thats equal to 5 pints of lager in costs, still cheaper than buying a new battery :y P.S. (LONDON PRICES) ;D
