I imagine having the AC.....lights.....wipers......radio on must make a huge difference to the range of an electric car, or milk float.

Ac consumes a few kW of energy and only really when first cooling at max Capacity, once the cabin is to temperature then the consumption drops right off.

Nooo! There's nowhere for the heat to go for a start, and that's cruising at 40-50MPH type power, so it would kill fuel consumption.

I'd be surprised if it took more than 1 or 2 hp. I certainly can't detect a fuel consumption change on mine.
