anyone changed a thermostat on the 2.5 BMW lump? If so whats the best way to go about it.

Looks an arse to change im taking it all the fan needs to come off too ?

Easy, but not had a TD for some time....

Drain (rad drain and a drain bolt in block near turbo)
Viscous off (lh thread)
Believe aux belt off - undo the black plate at top of tensioner damper and "swing" it up - I posted some pics some time back. If you have A/C, that belt also needs to come off.
Remove pipe to state, then stat out.
Reverse to refit

Do not be tempted to use a lever on aux tensioner, way above is easier and less likely to break brittle tensioner casting
