Death ,funeral and thanks
« on: 30 October 2015, 23:36:50 »

Hi just wanted to say thanks for the support over two threads and pm's. They are much appreciated.

On Monday, my mother was home visited by her GP and prescribed Gaviscon for abdominal pain.Bytheevening I had got my 89 year old dad to get an ambulance. I was over from Spain for another funeral on the Tuesday in Leicester. Drove up at 11.30p.m.and stayed at Scarborough hospital till 2p.m. Tuesday when she was transferred to Hull for potential heart surgery. That evening she had a ballon pump inserted as her heart had a hole between the left and right sides . The idea was to build her strength up for a stent op. Very sadly she ebbed away having spells where she improved. I went out with my brother to put more parking on the car and was back in 12 minutes in time to have left my dad alone with her while she died on Wed evening.

The last few days have been unbearable but getting better. On the plus side I have made superb progress .Got the death certificate next day at 3p.m. And the death registered by 5p.m. Met the funeral director today and funeral is set for 10th Nov. Wake booked. Must be a record! I might be home by 12 th

Anyway thanks for the support :y

Keeping busy, even with 'tasks' which you don't want to do certainly helps.  I hope you will be ok when it 'settles down' and you have time to reflect on the last few days.

I wish you and your family all the best Varche.  I wish there was something I could do to assist.

I went through this with my mother, 21st December last year. After she had heart surgery and a full blood transfusion to help her.
It is the hardest thing to cope with. I wish you and your family all the very best at this very sad time.

It will be the silly little things you would not think of that will trip you up over the coming months.  :y
