Depending on how the car is used/mileage/location etc they can get pretty grotty... causing the pads to stick, which creates all sorts of other issues.
The problem isn't so much the pins, as reversing 10+ years of unmaintenance ;)
Pins can usually be tarted up, but the springs tend to fail at the join. They can be pieced back together, but a nice man gave me some non vented pins/springs last night :y

Anyone got the part number for the pins for vented  :-\ At least i think thats what i need on the 2.6  :-\
