Checked my service history pdf to find I got 20l for £38.62, that's 10-40. 

I got 20 ltrs of 10w40 for £36.30 recently when I went in on the off chance and asked nicely.    but another time I was dismissed with "We're out of stock mate"    

So I think it depends on the parts guy's mood that day.    Whether his Mrs is being cooperative or not! 

I just get "eh' whats do you mean tc ?" or "never heard of it mate" But you can have 20ltrs for a special price of £63

Given your issues with your local Stealer, surely it's worth getting a list of bits built up, and then making the pilgrimage to a dealer who will facilitate you with TC prices, and be effectively 'stocked up' for a year. All you'd have to do is coincide it with another thing, like a day out, trip to a seaside/museum/art gallery/roller disco, whatever you're into to make the trip 'pay for itself' The oil at TC's £30 vs £63 alone would save you £33 right off the bat... £66 saved if you bought two 20l tubs. Just food for thought...

Not to rub it in, but Vauxhall Now Heathrow gave me a good deal on 10/40 Semi yesterday.

£22+vat for 20L drum
