Omegas aren't worth much, sadly. We lavish lots of time and attention on them, but they're not, and never will have the value (in some people's eyes) of a BMW, Audi etc.
That all said, sending it to werobanycar.com etc... seems a shame. Even if it went to a breaker on here and its parts helped to keep a dozen other Omegas on the road, that would at least be something. I owned a facelift CDX (which your car is) and now own and older version.
To be honest, nothwithstanding the things that can cause issue on a car left standing over time, if you or he would be good enough to just list the things wrong with it, or why it was taken off the road, it's highly likely that for pretty low cost it could be got running again. Lots of 'big scary' issues are often solved for very low cost on Omegas. There's hardly anything that is an expensive fix.
Oh, and I'm perhaps a good one to answer this, as my current car hadn't turned a wheel in 7 years when I got her going again . Nothing's impossible.
