MOT day on the Tranny Luton
« on: 13 February 2016, 07:17:03 »

The trusty old R reg Class 7 Transit Luton twinwheel is up for MOT today. Surprisinly have put 18000 miles on it in the year  :o :o
Advisories last time were:  slight play in steering rack, slight play in n/s front wheel bearing & 1 rear tyre near legal limit  ::)

Several new tyres since last test , wheel bearing seems ok to me (famous last words)  steering feels exactly the same as it always has . So fingers crossed

I have also just  replaced both centre propshaft rubber bearings .   If it passes I will probably sell it now as have no real use for it , apart from using it as an Omega used parts store  ;)  These old reliable workhorses seem to be fetching really good money at the moment

Will post up the outcome  . . . booked in for 8-30   ;) ;)

Congrats Al!

I thought tin worm was the biggest transit killer so to not have any of that on its mot ticket must count in its favour!

Little bro regularly buys twin axle trannies to shove his horsebox onto.  Every year, out with the welder....

Prehaps little bro should buy a proper horsebox. Got one here for sale, V reg Iveco 75E15, three horse with living, 230 v hook up. Brill lorry., no speed limiter so will do 70mph, where permitted of course ;) :y Email for pics if he is interested
