intake manifold cleaned
« on: 05 April 2016, 11:30:17 »

I took it off yesterday & cleaned it. though to be fair it was quite clean. the swirl flap rod only had one flap attached & that was on the first port, and when working the actuator manually I found it to be sticking when fully closed, though it was not gunge causing it to stick. the flap seemed to be distorted a bit. its now without flaps.  As for the job it was a bit fiddly in parts but it took me about 3 hours, but stopped twice when wifey made coffee. the cranking ( which was the part that scared me) wasn't too bad. I turned the key about 8 times for about 15 second intervals & with the help of a spare battery it fired up without having to bleed anything. bonnet  closed & the heavens opened, so timed it right.  :y
