All 4x4 Insignias include flexride... Sports mode on this changes to 60/40 rwd split and firms the damping up...

Incidentally,  Insignia has the A28NEL/T fitted rather than the Z28 :y

Interesting!

I've been trying to find a comfy discreet quick estate car. this might just fit the bill, once its been "looked at" of course :y.

I'd thought about a E61/F11 535d SE but they're somewhat uncommon and (I think) come with a host of potentially expensive issues (swirl flaps, dpf, high pressure fuel pumps all giving their fair share of trouble). If the current skoda superb were 3 yrs older I'd be after a 280ps 4x4 one of those. But theyre the thick end of £40k and lose 2/3 of that over a 3 yr period :o.

This could be a decent, if somewhat left field answer.

Oh and if the saabs are anything to go by, lpg is a distinct possibility  :D

The 2.8V6 lump, I like.

As for the Insignia, the looks just don't 'float my boat'.

It's the 'lard arse' rear  end and dated styling that leave me cold.

Having said that the Signum is no looker either.  ;)

Phil:

SOme useful information there thanks!  :y

What car do you have yours in?

Signum

They are available for peanuts, had mine for just over 2 years now, 2006 06 plate, elite spec with full leather and bells and whistles, 80k with comprehensive service history for £2.5k at the time an extra £500 would have got me a lower mileage 57 plate with a couple of the whistles missing

I had a test drive in a ST 220 Estate.

It went okay but certainly didn't feel like 220 BHP. A rev happy little bastard it felt 'torque light' in give and take driving.

Probably because it only has 210lb-ft. About 50lb-ft less than your soggy arsed Opel, and just 95ft-lb less than my economical 4banger.

Is that due to them not being used?

No, its because the Haldex system doesn't appear on the maintenance schedule - Just like it doesnt for any Saab XWD  ::)

I'm reliably informed that changing oil & Filters (where fitted) every 3yrs/30k - Like Haldex says you should stops that happening  :y

If this is the same Broomies mate I remember from UKSaabs forum - I suspect that may not be how it would turn out  ;)
