My sister rang and complained that her n/s door mirror 'had gone grey'. Went to investigate, looks like the glass has fallen off leaving the grey plastic backing. I've never seen this on an Omega Is best cure a stick on glass?

My daughter's Astra had a 'wing mirror clash' causing the glass to fall of and break..... generally they are just stuck on with 'sticky fixers'. Vx wanted over £90 just for the glass, and even the cut it out yourself silver coloured foil was tried but that's a waste of time. If it's a standard fitting then you may find general motor factors will stock a mirror glass for around £20, but in the end we had to go to a glaziers and get some mirror glass cut to shape. It's just as good as the original, but doesn't incorporate the lense effect at the edge for blind spot.

This isn't a specific recommendation(it's the first answer from Meriva mirror glass search), but is it worth faffing about with used when a new one is only £12?

Exactly the same happened on my Omega. Instead of buggering about with sticky backed mirrors. I replaced the unit from the the shop in the link below.

I unclipped the old one out, took the wire off the spade connector and then reverse to fit the new one. Perfect fit and heats as well as the original part.

There are a number of Meriva ones from the same shop as per the link below. I'd happily use him again.
