Was it an inter web cheapo? If so, it's likely knackered before you start :-X ::)

As an aside, I bought 3 car chargers (USB type) from eBay (should have known better ::)) that claimed to be 3.1 Amp... I've not bothered measuring but I have had a full refund as they couldn't even charge my phone without the nav running on it, never mind with! Currently using a 1 amp charger and that works just fine, albeit it struggles a little if on a call for a long time too.

As has been said numerous times... eBay is full of cheap, fake tat >:(

Whats the cards Memory?, if its more than 32Gb may be the phone doesn't support it, or if it does the phone may be looking for a different Format.

Try formatting as Fat32, most phones will accept that, if doing on a PC and its 64GB or above it will probably only format as eFat or NTFS, so download a Fat32 Formater.
