For about £12k you can have a brand spanking new one.

If you're insane enough.

Nice to hear of a fellow logger! I use a Suzuki Vitara but wouldn't recommend.

My brother has a plot of land he harvests for firewood and he uses an antique tractor and trailer. It is very advantageous on the insurance, tax and MOT side of things but painfully slow on main roads (something you might not need to do.).

From what I have seen here in the countryside in Spain the old Mitsibushi Pajeros just run and run. Something like this (although you might prefer a manual)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mitsubishi-Pajero-Shogun-7-seater-turbo-diesel-estate-car-with-tow-bar-/391464716858?hash=item5b251d8a3a:g:FugAAOSwMN9XQvbC

thats what we have!and its 1986 year of manufacture! no rust! paid 500 euro for it 6 years ago! lol its towed mobile homes(8ton) tow started articulated lorries, been up some horrendous mountains off road, been through some hugely swollen rivers and riverbeds that are just silt, towed car trailers with other pajero,s on and vw t4,s etc great bit of kit, its failed its itv(mot) this year on not having lights fitted on the bullbar(which it never has had) but its on the fecha tech so had to pay 12 euro to have the fecha marked as lights voluntarily given up lol

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'm more or less settled on a shogun sport. I like the big shogun but they are 2 big and bulky and the swb is too small so I'm going for the middle option. Plenty room in the back and the rear seats fold down flat which gives tonnes of load space and I'm told they have a good not of grunt for pulling! Seen quite a few around the 2k which is reasonable and it will double up as a road car as well! Just need to convince swmbo that she likes them now. Oh well I'll land one home 1st and see how that goes.

Just out of curiosity does any1 on here have 1st hand experience of the shogun sport model??
