Had the TV repaired again
« on: 23 July 2008, 18:15:57 »

Never seem to have much luck with TVs since I moved into my current house.

Firstly there was the woefully bad piece of shit Sony FQ series. Had 4 of them, even the best was bloody awful.  Couldn't wait to replace it.  Sony UK refused to provide the (expensive) fixes that Sonyy provided in other countries.

Then I had the rather nice Dell, complete with gay blue backlighting for remote.  Nice set (only 720p mind), let down by software faults in the digital tuner.  Dell gave me full refund after a year.

Now got the rather nice Samsung M87, which has had an annoying intermittent screen issue since I've had it.  The retailer (BeyondTV in Blackpool) are a joke, even their own trade body says they are sailing close to the wind, but Samsung have been great.  They have changed the panel today, so that leaves just the PSU and a small driver board near top (the one that came with the new panel was faulty!) if I still continue to get this issue.

They wanted to replace the panel in my Samsung M87, but I insisted they replace the TV which they did after a bit of stubberness.
