Self leveling headlights, not working.
« on: 04 August 2016, 19:41:01 »

Hiya,
My car failed its MOT today because the self levelling headlights were not working.
The dip beam is well below the legal requirement.
Its a 2003  2.2 Diesel CDX with Xenon lights.

I've had a rootle about in there but haven't a clue what i'm doing.
Any help\ advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I think mine doesn't adjust the headlight either but I have just adjusted manually from the two manual adjusters on top of the headlamp, that way they don't ask if it works in MOT they just check that it's on right level.... So manual adjustement on top of the lamps. Two moving parts on top the lamp :D I bet you can't miss them.

Check whether the reflector flaps about in the breeze, it's a common fault that the plastic beam adjuster fails, hence the lamp shining on the ground. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90638.0
Not sure if the ally adjusters are still available though  :-\

Thanks Muroman & Andy B.  I'll have a look tomorrow, see if everything is intact before trying to manually adjust them.
You might be hearing from me again,,, lol.  ;D

If both are low do you have the "FLD vision low" message on the MID?

My sensor has fallen to pieces too. could I adjust the headlamps to their correct position and get away with it on the mot or do I have to have it all working properly.

Thanks
Neil.

Yes, as long as the pattern is correct, and the alignment is right.
Only problem you have is, after you set the alignment, and drive it might move. :-X

If by 'fallen to piece's you mean that the arm has popped off, then carefully application of cable ties will serve as a half decent temporary fix  :y
