I find this a bit strange
« on: 01 October 2016, 20:20:48 »

During WWII how would it have been if we had told the world that we had radar

How would it have been if the USA told everyone they had the A Bomb

If we had announced the D Day landings in advance

Yet these days everything is discussed and "transparent"

This should happen, but we should not know about it, unless of course knowing is itself a tactical move. But, I think too much is discussed in public. Lets have a vote on a war - and warn the enemy. DOH !

Knew about them months ago. A friend was concerned that if labour won the last election, weather he was going to get made redundant, but as Dave won, panic over, also the lads n lasses' involved with the carriers were worried too.

There's still lots that's very squirrel.

Sounds familiar  ;D

A chap at work got into an argument with an arsey passenger last night. Net result was his being called a puddinghead...

Quite apt really as his head is full of moist sponge ::)

Anyone that has seen "The Man In The High Castle" on Amazon knows the answer to this likely scenario.

whole (and only point) of having these subs is if we tell the world we have them, it's called deterrence.  to actually use one would be a war crime.

We don't know most that goes on in all global political relationships, good and bad and that is how it should be. :y

The worst geopolitical politician of the modern era and the cause of many global political vacuums and instability is Obumma. When things through weakness are out of control the first thing he does is tells his enemies, what he isn't going to do, idiot. :( Anybody, with the most basic common sense understands that knowledge is power. :y

The current biggest standing joke on all of us is the BOE 'forward guidance'. ???

In the early part of WWII the Germans weren't that far behind us on RADAR development. Where we were significant ahead and won the Battle of Britain was our integrated air defense system, which Dowding has championed and implemented despite opposition. It wasn't until 1943 / 44 that the Germans had the equivalent with their nightfighter control system. By this time the German's weren't even in the same game with our development of high-resolution much higher frequency RADAR systems. :y

Bit off topic(other snacks are available)
The biggest threat to world peace is the bloody yanks, they have in the past few years backed the wrong horse, and left gapping holes in the middle east, which extremist factions have filled, basically to settle old religious scores, sunnis vers's shea, both Gaddafi and hussian, kept a lid on these religious wars, and so far to an extent do the ayotollas of Iran, it is what works in the whole of Africa, the minoritys rule and keep a lid on it, now Russia is backing the rightful government in Syria the west are backing the wrong horse again, democracy doesn't work in Africa or the middle east, never has never will,. Consult history to see.

The west has constantly tried to impose their style of "democracy" on the Arab world for quite a number of years - and failed.
