Just another quick question, to do with the above. Does anyone know anywhere or anyone in Scotland near to Glasgow, that might have two front doors?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep. All front doors are the same. Used fl front doors on my 95 estate. Only difference is that the fl door has a few more holes to attach the bump strips. But these will be covered by the strip anyway. Also the hole where the wiring enters the door is slightly bigger on fl but not really a problem.

Hi MonzaGSE

You might be able to help me. I have got FL doors they have the hinge on them that was bolted to the car, as far as I can tell on my 95 the part of the hinge attached to the car is welded?  Did you just remove the hinge pins from both the old and new door?  If you did could you tell me if they are solid pins and how you did it?  Also is the wiring the same or did that need changing from each door?

Sorry for all the questions, I have looked for any writeups on how to do this and not found any. I am more than happy for you to PM me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To change the doors, you need to knock the pins out using a combination of pliers/grips/hammer... covered in Haynes if there isn't a guide for it here :y

Yes as mentioned here remove the pins. I used a sturdy pair of pliers to grip around the collar of the pin and then just whacked the pliers with a hammer. (Careful with the paintwork). My new fl doors came already gutted. Just used the metal door and the window glass from the new doors. Everything else i moved over from the old doors. First door took awhile but once you get the hang of it its not to bad a job.

The pins can be a bit problematic if theyre rusty. I had one pin the collar came of and it broke in the hinge. Since i was scrapping the old doors i used the angle grinder on the door and cut away til it came off so i could get in there with a punch. Opel/vauxhall supplies new pins if needed.
