low temperature
« on: 10 February 2017, 10:44:23 »

My 3.2 doesn't seem to be warming up, it only gets to about 80 deg after a 10mile trip. Is it just the thermostat or some thing else? Thanks  :)

Thermostat is the usual culprit. The way to check is to start the engine from cold and feel the top radiator hose from time to time as it warms up. The hose should stay cool until the engine hits normal running temperature then suddenly get very hot. If it warms up gradually, it's a sign that the thermostat is getting lazy.

Normal running temperature would be with the gauge sitting at between about 85 and 95 depending on driving conditions, and it would get there within 3 miles or so after a cold start.
