I am still looking for this, and would like one that has the facility to take ethernet as well as the standard co-ax. I expect to have a Freesat box to connect to it, satellite connection not essential, so a Freeview set is fine. I don't need 4k, I'm 80 and it will be years before we get that on free channels. I refuse to pay for Sky.
Hopefully under £400 and good quality, 32"  to 40".
Suggestions from owners with experience would be helpful.

Panasonic will do something suitable within budget

Current set is 12 years old, and inspite of the occasional tantrum, still works well. Need to replace it for size reasons as much as anything else as it's bloody mahoosive

Totally agree, Both mine are Panasonaic and have freeview, freesat and coax, plus USB, Etherernat and Blutooth, althougth the Blutooth as only connected once on each TV and never worked since.

I reckon Panasonic have hugely lost their way. The actual result is disappointing for the spec IMHO.

If you don't need anything clever from the Smart functionality, Samsung still remains hard to beat.  And given the modest size, easily under budget from the box shifters.  But you'll be stuck with Freeview, not Freesat.

I have an LG 42"...was a cheap price....Smart TV with all the internet stuff, etc on it. Had it a while, and well pleased with it.

Under £400 should give you a pretty good choice. Much will depend upon whether you prefer to buy a known brand or some obscure name that you've never heard of.

Sound quality will make a big price difference. One of the reasons that TVs are so cheap these days is that they use small crap speakers to keep the weight and the price down and on the assumption that the user will buy a sound bar. So, cheap TV + Soundbar or More Expensive TV without soundbar. Take a walk around Currys/PC World sometimes they have good combination deals. Don't be tempted by a really cheap sound bar, not worth it.

I've gone for the cheap option, a 32" Samsung standard TV, and will pick up a cheap Humax off eBay to do all the Smart stuff. Then use an Aztec powerline for internet programmes.  Thanks for input.

Got a 40" Panasonic here, had it about a year. Excellent picture and I believe all the features you mention. Iirc it came from Sainsburys and cost around £350.
