Does anyone own a French bulldog or a pug etc?

I read this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4350338/Woman-heartbroken-two-dogs-die-care-sitter.html

I didn't know that these bracycelaphic breeds couldn't regulate their body temperatures, although I was aware of their breathing difficulties. I guess the temperature in Melbourne would be a lot higher than here, but still worth noting, I think.
Poor little dogs.

We have 2 frenchies, they've been under house arrest since the heat started with swmbo walking them really early in a morning and me last thing at night. They've both spent most of their time sulking because they love the sun, but we can't risk them being out for more than 5-10 mins.

Must be heartbreaking to lose them, especially two at once!  :'(

Our Tibetan Terrorist was clipped out at the end of May, and not a moment too soon. Currently sprawled out in the shade ::)

My westie is going to the groomers tomorrow. Trouble is, it's like a fickin sauna in there with all the driers going and she is three hours in there. She comes out and doesn't stop drinking for about half an hour.

Do it yourself and save £20. How hard can it be to shave a dog? :)
