Absolutely  :y. However, you would have thought he would have let it go now he's part of the government (and I use the term loosely) who has to deliver on it.

The principle I don't understand from anyone (regardless of their political stripe) is to absolutely excuse "their side" anything they say or do, whilst hanging on the every word or mis-statement of the other side.

It seems to exhibit a lack of clarity of thought, to blindly excuse one party but not another. What happened to being able to agree with some parts of what your chosen party says/does but not others? Its all a bit too "Trump" for my tastes.

All you needed to explain is what the word "could" means.  ;) ::)

Again, if you actually listen to the words...

Good grief, Jimmy, such naivety...it's called politics.  ;)

I read the words in the previous link to the Wail. Cant listen at the moment though. I'm not really trying to defend Boris. I think he had a novelty value which has mostly worn off. However, during the campaign, their battlebus didn't actually say they would get back £350 million per week and spend it on the NHS.
It was a stupid slogan though, which that side of the Leave campaign should never have used. They were advised of this at the time by the other side of the leave campaign, but took no notice.

I want to know when the first week's £350m is due that Boris promised us.....

This has always bemused me, when people carry on about Boris and his bus. ::)

Um no, its more that he said it, on the record:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1298176/Boris-Johnson-makes-claim-leaving-EU-free-350m.html

and has continued to say it

http://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/special-shows/ask-boris/boris-johnson-live-on-lbc-watch/

But don't let that get in the way of your memories.

Also, by "a bit naughty" I assume you mean made up  ::) in that it assumes we can have back our contributions £350m and keep all the money the eu sends back to us. The very definition of having your cake and eating it.

Neither of those links get in the way of my memories Jimmy, because in both clips he dosn't make any promises.  He makes suggestions sure, and not invalid ones either. ::)

I don't believe that Boris Johnson ever made a specific promise that £350 million a week would be made available to the NHS.  It's become an urban myth, but if you can come up with proof that he did then I will make a full apology.  ;)

When eventually we do leave the EU there will be extra cash available. It won't be £350 million a week though....  :-X  ;D

No, but again, your interpretation allows for caveats not given to politicians of other stripes, which was my point.

I sincerely hope you're right on the money front. The referendum decision has definitively made us poorer as a nation in the past year (downgraded credit rating and fall in pound increasing the costs of borrowing and servicing our ever-growing debt) and we will have some considerable ground to make up once the deal is concluded. Whether it's a "good" one or a "bad" one.

Not really Jimmy.  It's just that I don't believe that Boris said that.  If what people say about Jeremy Corbyn's links with IRA figures were lies then I'd stand up for him as well, even though I don't agree most of his policies.  ;)
