Desperation?
« on: 26 July 2017, 20:35:56 »

Got a text message earlier this evening. It was totally unsolicited on my part and was from someone/somewhere I've never heard of,and ran "You choose the car,we'll arrange the finance"and went on to list a web site to go to in order to take up this "offer".Are they getting desparate for business while they're firing out text messages to-presumably-random mobile phones? I deleted the message when I saw what it was about,I have at present no intention of buying another car,nor have I made any kind of enquiry to anyone on the subject of doing so,and I certainly wouldn't buy a car on finance,if I can't pay cash for one I can't afford one!!

Phishing scam would be my bet.

Nice little website for you to type in your personal info and bank details so they can generate you a "personalised finance quotation".

This is just common, everyday stuff now. Don't take it personally, delete it and forget it.

I got a doozy the other day, purporting to be from the Apple Store and billing me for Netflix. The email was a perfect clone of Apple's, but where it fell down was asking me for my passwort.  ;D

Don't get mad, as there's efff all you can do about it

As previously said, delete it, forget it, and move on

Don't ever forget the same applies to phone calls to discuss finances in any shape or form, including sales invitations, as you have no idea who the call is from.

Just this moment had same text again! Did exactly same as yesterday and deleted it.I reckon they'll get fed up of sending these texts before I get fed up of deleting them ;D
