Help!!! 2.0 lt cam sensor wiring
« on: 09 August 2008, 11:28:42 »

Fred117 has been having probs ever since we put the engine back in.
97/98 2.0 16v

EML light refuses to go out. Paper clip and diagnostics said cam sensor
So changed the CS for 1 I had laying about, No difference.
we then noticed a small nick in the CS wire. so off to the breakers and could only find a Vectra so chased the lead back into the loom and cut it out. we the chase the leead into the Miggy loos and all the way back to the ECU. Instead of hotwiring the plug to check Fred made the mistake of cutting the old wiring out, (OOPS)

The terminals that came out of the ECU plug do not match up with the book of lies or autodata, nore do the original wire colours.

so after changing for NEW ORIGINAL parts

Cam Sensor
Crank Sensor
ECU / Transponder and Key (Borrowed from Markey Mark)
Wiring (Miggy and Vetra)

We have come to a dead stop.

Car revs to 4500 (limp mode) without the CS connected
Car revs to 4000 and then DIES with it connected

Can anyone provide any ideas or look at the wiring from the cam sensor to the ECU and check what pins each is connected to and colours
