« on: 25 August 2008, 15:50:23 »

then im finished doing nights. shant be doing it again for a long time. if i work for this company again i'll take the 150 a weeek pay  cut and do days. ive never been so knackered in my life and im a stone in weight down too.  day shift cant do much, h&s rules, customers walking about. so us muppets do it all at night. hardest gafting job ive ever done. i'll take some pics later to show u what ive done.

been doing it for 25 yrs now, think im getting too old for it now. 80-100 hrs a week and hard graft, but i do love the job and the laughs we have, working with people from all over britain, loads of banter goes on, think the brummies take the most stick followed by mancs then us southern softies  ;D ;D ;D

As I was in the retail trade for 40 years, I had the pleasure of being involved in branch refits involving shop fitters on many occassions; great bunch of blokes (always blokes then! ::) ::)) who worked very hard, and in those days (before H&S caused problems) the refits were usually carried out during the day :y :y.

I can therefore fully appreciate your comments about the night work v. the day work done by others which must be limited now. ;)

Apart from the graft aspect nights is just .. well .. unnatural. Been there a few times and every time I was ill. I think you have to be a special breed to do nights long term !!!!
