To be more precise, one gas burner and one gas lamp...reason, coz no leccy this morning when i got up at 6am  

Believe it went off sometime around 2am.

Apparently fault at sub station, was fixed at 7.30am  

And the testing went well

Lol, driving down the A46 this morning and one lane was closed.

A Ka had left the road at speed (its the straightest bloody road around being ex-roman!), left the ground and hit a wooden electricity pole snapping it in two!

The Ka was 50 meters away in the entrance to a little chef and the remains of the pole were hanging on the wires.

Think they will be out wiithout electric for some time when that 11KV feed is turned off!

Two good bits of news.

1) One less Ka on the road (the bumper was touching the wipers!)

2) The little chef was shut!

The Ka, of course. A little chef being closed means about the same level of service as when it's open IME, so it makes no difference.

Raising enough momentum to leave the ground under any circumstances is impressive in a Ka let alone enough to go through a wooden pole.

It's definitely a good effort!!! I used to pick cars up from the A30, between Basingstoke and Hook where it's dead straight, all the time... Even went to one once where he'd parked it up a tree

Ahh, yes. I bet you know the A339 Basingstoke->Alton too? What a fine road when there are no dawdlers / scameras! It's been the undoing of many though.

Lol, I suspect they were hurt....rightly so given they must have been doing 3 figures!

No signs of cutting on the car.

Its a slight downhill for about 3 miles, dual carriageway and like I said, as straight as an arrow!

I used to love that road... Especially on a bike!!! It was just one of those places where the red mist descends and you have to go faster and faster and faster

I often drive the winch at the gliding club (boring job) and the number of times I sit there and hear bikes accelerate hard through the whole gearbox on those straights by the airfield doesn't bear thinking about.

I once nearly collected a bike during an overtake on one of those straights.  He must have been doing a ton and the reason I spotted him late was that it was dusk, he had his front wheel in the air and his headlight was illuminating the sky, not the road.

You'd be more than welcome. For that matter, we could organise an OOF meet one evening down there for anyone who would like to give it a go.. Probably a bit late in the year as the evenings are drawing in, but something to keep in mind for the spring. There's plenty of space to park up and kick tyres, a restaurant and bar, etc...
