I must remark on your point, Stuart30, about signing up for "Queen and Country" being an alternative to going on the Dole, and being a "Carrier" for pissheads, etc.

While not for the armed forces, In November this year, I am swearing an oath for Queen and Country in a court of law, in order to perform a new commitment which strictly speaking will make me no longer a civillian. You can't really call this a "carrier" for me, on the basis that I am going to be doing what I do alongside my full time job, on an entirely voluntary (unpaid) basis, with the end result being more support and protection for members of the public such as yourself. So Please, don't tar everyone, or even the majority, with that brush :y

You have our respect for this.

I have had relatives in Army RAF Navy

OK.  Feelings were running high on this one last night.....

Just read through and it appears that different points of view have been made in different ways which has resulted in a member closing their account.  Thats upto the user involved.

Whats asked is, as on any forum, keep discussion polite and pleasant without resorting to verbal (typed??) badmouthing and the like.

To quote the forum guidelins at the top of age page....

Keep posts relevant, short, and on topic, especially on Help threads, and meeting organisation threads.  General Chat is the only area where we expect things will go off at a tangent!
Members being offensive to other members will not be tolerated.

.... and that means ALL members.  Ta.   :y

ps - if I had been called at that time of the morning to review a teddy throwing episode then who knows what would have happened...

My admin point made.  By all means, continue the debate, but lets be adult about it.  No room for 'my Dad is bigger than your Dad' retorts on here....     ;)
