My Omega, passed its MOT. Got some minor advisories that are not major.  Now got to get the tracking done, as had to change middle steering linkage, both trackrods, both wishbones and steering idler. The front shocks and coils were done for last year. No advisories for rust. Just done rust removal on front (had to make a new drivers side outrigger). Checked inside the front wheelarches and all seems OK, including the front part under the headlights. Now got to do the wifes 1995 Omega for its MOT in March.

Well done, Addy. You must have a lot of time on your hands. My astra has, in my five year, 70,000 mile ownership, had brake pads and tyres, plus a couple of glow plugs.

Hi Stemo, that is good going on your car, nice when they don't want much. After the stroke I had a while back, working with metal is still one of my favourite things. I struggled a bit with the mechanical, but thanks to the help patience and support from  GastronomicKleptomaniac, when doing the bits on it, the ticket made it all worth while.  The wife will not part with her Omega estate, so got to keep it going, replaced most of the mechanical bits on it, so the bodywork needs a bit of TLC, not much rust just things like paintwork etc. The mention of scrapping it, is a swear word

Was this the car that struggled on emissions previously?

Hi VXL V6

No this is my own 2.6. The emissions are low on this one. It is the wifes 2ltr which had the emission problems. Got a new exhaust manifold coming for her car. I think that there is a small hairline crack on the original one, that must of been small last year, but is noticeable this year. Hopefully it will help with her cars emissions.

This years emissions for mine:

NATURAL IDLE
RPM 661
CO  0.000

The co for natural idle has always been like that, even when I lived up in Scotland. Would be great if the wifes car came in near to these readings
