About Newent.....
« on: 08 September 2008, 21:00:42 »

Evening all.

Having read various opinions in Pete's "What happened" thread, I have realised a few things that I didn't really think about previously, and because of this, I want to clear the air.

During the brief visit to Newent on Friday, I will agree on reflection, that I did drive too quickly on the campsite, when I was looking to see where everyone was. We also moved a cone in order to get back to the reception area a few feet away, without really giving any in depth consideration as to why it was placed there. (Although, I figured that seeing as I ended up there by mistake, it made more sense to drive straight onto the concrete, rather than drive on the field again).

I do want to say, that the above actions were not out of maliciousness or bad intent - moreso just because I wasn't really thinking straight, I have recently been really stressed (for reasons I don't want to talk about) and was keen to get back to the reception area and book on, and pitch the tents before it got dark, or the rain worsened.

I'd like to offer my sincere apologies to all, for the above.

And also to Loo Knee, for being left in a bit of a strange position (even though we had booked seperately). Loo-knee, while I don't agree with everything you said, I do agree with much of it, and I'll take your advice on the chin. Hopefully we can continue to get along (and take the micheal out of each other?) ;)

This is not a dummy spitting statement, and something I've given thought to  before writing - but if anyone really is upset with me, and thinks I should hand in my membership here, please say, and I'll honour it. Equally, if you wouldn't like to see me at another meet, I really would like to know, by PM if you like.

Otherwise, I would like to forget this, and focus on chilling out a bit, because I have been tense beyond belief for the last few days, and I need to nip that in the bud and get my head straight, before starting my new commitments  :y

Agreed Nige and I really hope that is the case - but some people feel strongly about certain things - so I'm just trying to respect everyone :y

I've just got home an hour ago and whizzed through all the posts concerning Newent.
My sympathy went out to Hannah, who I know enjoys these meets better than anyone, and must have been really disappointed.
Beyond that, I don't want to comment or criticise, except to point out that the three of you missed out on a fabulous couple of days.
We will expect to see you again at other meets, James!
Best wishes,
Bill.

Both myself and SWMBO w/a wanted to meet you and Maria, and would still like to at another meet as your visit was so brief that we missed you both.

Don't be so silly and leave James / Maria, what happened was an innocent mistake and sould be seen as that and not as the biggest crime this century has seen.

Hopefully we'll get to meet soon :y :y :y

James.., may I put down what I would say lol?

Look what happened, happened, its not a big deal.., we are all human beings and react in different ways.., and that doesn't mean that certain reactions are bad or anything.., they are just different.  I think removing a cone and speeding a little (possibly) and so on are hardly worth commenting about.

When we do meet u and Maria I shall have a big hug for both of you and for gods sake don't leave the forum.., we'd be lost without u.
