Well.

Motor magazine managed 8.5 seconds in 1969. Autocar recorded 8.2 in the same year.

By modern standards the TR6 is small and relatively light. The early models had a 'claimed' 150 BHP from the 2.5 straight six.

Maybe time was measured more slowly back then. 8) ::)

I believe that until fairly recently the Hillman Hunter was still manufactured in Iran, so I'd imagine there are still a few going round there.

That is correct! When I was there they were/are called Paycans with no light clusters back or front fitted!!  :o :o
I believe they bought the old tooling from Rootes back in the 70's when the Shah was in power.
