Falling birth rates. Spain is looking for migrants to bolster the workforce.( article on Sky News).

I have seen various articles saying that other countries in Europe have the same problem.

300,000 a year legalised plus others living under the radar. That is a lot to integrate.

We have been going to Spanish classes and the cultural divide between say Moroccans and the Spanish is huge despite the country’s proximity . ( when Spain gets a new king, Morocco is the first country he visits). They don’t drink, don’t go to discos and women’s place is in the home etc.  The young lads just hang around on street corners and “ own” the pavement. Women have to get out of their way.

Our local town is part of the initiative and I believe they receive funding for doing so. By doing so, they have changed the face and feel of the town. Moroccan shops have sprung up in what were empty shops .

It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Could be an opportunity post Brexit for Brits to move to work?
