« on: 08 June 2025, 19:44:04 »

Question on Radio 1 this afternoon.

A cricketer hit what with a ball? Pigeon or Pterodactyl? Err I will say pigeon as never heard of a Pterodactyl. Correct!

What on earth do youngsters actually learn at school nowadays?

You could be right. No aide memoirs either. Our teachers had broken chair parts, rulers and board rubbers.

………
 rulers and board rubbers.

Ah, that brings back memories, as the male teacher shouted “Stop talking boy” and the wooden block chalk board rubber would whizz past your head. Can’t see them getting away with that these days.  ;D

A direct hit would cause a cloud of chalk dust to erupt as if your head had exploded  ;D

My third year master had his size twelve slipper. He wasn't called Slogger Williams for nothing. Ouch . ;D

One of the kids in my class had to go to hospital following such an incident, as it knocked him clean off his chair, which he was swinging on anyway, and banged his head on the back wall, knocking him unconscious for an extended period - still unconscious when the ambulance turned up  :o

You could tell, even back then, the teacher was bricking his pants over it ;D
