One of the kids in my class had to go to hospital following such an incident, as it knocked him clean off his chair, which he was swinging on anyway, and banged his head on the back wall, knocking him unconscious for an extended period - still unconscious when the ambulance turned up 

You could tell, even back then, the teacher was bricking his pants over it
