 This question is for one of my 3.2's.  Lumpy tick over, EML on, so with the help of Dr G, the dodgy ECU was swapped from the other 3.2  and vice versa to confirm that a fault is present PO150, O2 sensor had been changed with a new Bosch sensor before the ECU change around. So currently running the 3.2 on a 2.6 ECU and running great...but I've been trying to get the faulty ECU repaired,and have sent it to a couple of companies, who big themselves up, but can't help. So is there any one here that may have had a positive result recently for an engine ECU repair? Also there are a couple of used ones on ebay, but minus the chip and transponder ring, so basically £150's worth of door stop!

I’ve used AP-Reman and www.ecutesting.com, both with success, but for ABS Pump module repairs, not engine ECU. 
As these two pop up in a search, I’m guessing that maybe you’ve enquired with these already though.

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't tried this company, but will fill in their online request form, and see where we go with it. Apparently it's been suggested that I send the ECU directly to Bosch in Germany, but that comes with the risk of it going missing in their system/ language probs. If only the people that are breaking the cars do the job correctly, and remove the relevant parts

I have a 2003 3.2 which about 10 years ago apparantly fried the ECU due to an electrical surge or spike from the battery(?), and I had more lights on the dash than a Christmas tree.
Spoke to a couple of places that repair ECU's (one was in Derby I recollect), and I sent it to them but it was returned as unrepairable.
I decided to take the plunge and bought a used one from Ebay off a Police 3.2, complete with the transponders ring and key fob chips.
A former VX auto electrician with I presume a Tech2 etc reprogrammed it to my own 3.2, retaining my original key fob chips and transponder ring, and it has been fine ever since.
An option to consider if you know anyone with the ability and means to do it...?

Thanks for the info, I'll bear that in mind if the repair option fails, which seems likely at the moment. But the car runs fine on the 2.6 ECU which I bought off a guy on ebay, who sensibly had the chip and transponder with the ECU. But  I'm a bit twitchy on paying another£150 for an ECU on its own from an ebay scrapyard seller so there's no real rush to solve the issue, just trying to avoid the so called repair companies, who make claims that lead no where.

Ideally if you do get a replacement ECU, get the security code with it - that gives options around pairing it to immobiliser.

 I have just sent the faulty Ecu away for an assessment/repair, and also purchased another complete 3.2 Ecu from another reliable contact, so hopefully that will be the problem solved Thanks to all for the advice and interest, and now thinking that I might try and locate a 3.0 Ecu..just in case!
