Costco Tyres - Usual Deal is on, but....
« on: 14 October 2026, 12:43:13 »

It appears to be better than normal, not sure why. The mummy bus just had it's MOT and the tyres are getting a tad low with an advisory. With winter coming and the wife often giving lifts to other little ones as well, thought I would stick some new tyres on for the winter.

Costco are putting on 2x Goodyear 225/50 R17 Efficient Grip Performance 2's for £199 fitted.

Which is actually cheaper than I was paying 2 years ago  :-\

Quick search suggested that was a really good deal, other main brands at least £130/150 a tyre. With only budgets around £90 a corner.

If you're worried about the changing weather, at least stick 4 seasons on it.

Can vouch for the GY Vector 4 seasons having g run the ML for about 8 months on them.

Will plough through anything without being fazed.

As good as the Efficientgrips are, fitting new summer tyres as the weather changes could be suicidal as it takes a while for the release compounds to wear off.

My Dad used to stick remoulds on his Marina pickup and used to drive everywhere at 40mph which was fine for him.  :y

The 17 year old Tigger never considered the quality of the rubber keeping him on the road as he drove a bit faster than 40mph, but luckily it was fine for him also.  :)

I’ve had a good experience ordering tyres and car parts from Autodoc. Their prices are often very competitive, and it’s always worth checking them before committing to a deal elsewhere. I’d definitely recommend comparing prices with Costco, as you might be able to get a similar deal or save a bit more.  :)
