And I'm sure churning out millions upon millions of bins isn't having an impact on the environment.... :-?

As Tunnie says, in Brackley, we have had to tolerate this for 5 or 6 years. Black bin for rubbish, green for compostable, emptied on alternate weeks. In the summer, it does stink.

I had a long discussion with some dozy bimbo from the council, asking where my £1500 per year goes - pavement upkeep (dont have any my way), police (where?), library (dont use), schools (dont use), rubbish collection.

So, I pay £1500 per year to have my bin emptied 26 times - so over £55 a time. She agreed, this wasn't value for money...

£2000 for me and green plans afoot.  Currently chuck out 4-5 bags a week and now it's gonna be 1 wheelie bin a fortnight.  Balls to that, it'll be in the trailer & off to the tip every weekend or the garage will start to stink of baby sick & nappies.

My wife works in the recycling section of the local council and all the gripes that have been put forward here are all very well used .... 'I pay £XXX amount in rates/council tax etc etc.' In Bury Lancs the amount of rates that actually goes to empty one of your multi-coloured bins once a week is less than £1-00
As regard obnoxious bin men etc though unfortunately the management gutless and the tail wags the dog.

Stick it the wheelie bin and leave the lid down. How often do you need to check see if it smells?  ;)
