They kept this rule change  bloody quite

Like most things with them, we find out the hard, you start quoting what you think is the current law, only to be told, No No under section blah blah we can do this, even if you still think your right you have to pay the price and apeal, agrue about it afterwards.

Why don't their resources go into getting untaxed vehicles off the road rather than creating hassle for owners whose cars aren't used on the road anyway, and therefore aren't causing anyone any harm? >:(

So what happens to people who collect cars and may store them on a farm or even at one of the private 'secret' storage facilities, many such cars / busses / lorries etc, are not always kept taxed and or even tested. :)

Maybe they should deal with all the caravans parked on the road or other public parking areas on housing estates. :(

I know several people who have barns full of cars in various states of repair. Barns without addresses in most cases. How are they going to work that out?

In fact, how will they find all these cars that are off the road and thus none of their rather business? Are our garages going to be inspected for harmless rustbuckets annually or something? >:(

Unfortunately I keep getting the impression that government depts like this are more about raising funds than actually making the roads safer. The police try their best, but........ Without proper support and funding they are fighting a loosing battle. And the enthusiast restoring and old british bike is an easy target.  :'(

Not to mention creating work for themselves, of course.

Hmmm.  So If I have a car SORN at my address, but I'm not allowed to work on cars at my address, then it has to just sit there as an eyesore until the end of time?  :-? >:(

Similiar problem, we do have two garages (two streets away) that we pay rent for thru the same people we pay rent for for the houses here, but I guess they'll be got at too, and we'll have to prove the garages are tied to the address. After paying the release fee's of course.  If u think about it, this change in law can, and I am sure will, be used to clamp any car with SORN and not parked directly outside the address the SORN applies to which means we are probably scuppered if we have an untaxed car.

I Know !. The answer, use the EU to stop this !. you know how GB Gov always gives into the EU rules, so, go over to France or Germany buy up a load of nearly scrap cars, and transfer the regs to our classic cars. That way the DVLA can't touch them !. :y :y :y
